There is no place in the world that compares to Israel either for shear natural beauty, for the friendliness of the people (depending lol), and the holy feeling you get when you pray.
For some reason when I was home back in Cherry Hill it was a struggle for me to go to davening. This struggle from where I am now seems so childish. I now see I was just lazy. In the time so far that I have been in Israel I wake up early for שחרית every morning (usually the first one in the אולפן program) and I enjoy going and being there. To daven in Israel there is nothing like it anywhere else in the world I can't even imagine what it will feel like for me when I find time and go down to the כותל for the first time in nearly 5 years. For some reason (unlike in America) I enjoy getting up and going to תפלה for תפילת שחרית, תפילת מנחה, ותפילת הערב. Israel has truly changed I only hope I can keep it up (but then again all that would be stopping me is myself and at this moment in time i don't for-see that happening.
Just wanted to give you a little light into תפילה בקיבוץ השדה אליהו.
Until next time.

p.s. The tunes used on the kibbutz are much more subdued than what I am used to back in Cherry Hill where they Daven IN a much more upbeat fashion. I was told this was because the oringinal Kibbutzniks were mainly from Germany, Italy and France and because of this (some biased thinking I presume) they are a very serious peoples. אבל all in all I enjoy the tunes ( they are much more suited for my deep voice :) ). I hope to be able to learn them well so that if I do come back to Cherry Hill I will be able to introduce some new tunes to sons of israel.
